Belts

The belt is the part of a carry setup that people skip and then blame the holster for. A normal dress belt folds under the weight of a loaded handgun, which lets the grip roll outward, prints through a shirt, and makes a consistent draw impossible.

A gun belt is stiffened — usually a polymer core or two bonded leather layers — so it resists rolling rather than resisting stretch. Size it to your waist over the holster, not to your trouser size, which usually means going up an inch or two. If your holster shifts during the day, replace the belt before replacing the holster.
