Muzzle Devices

Muzzle devices redirect gas to solve one of three problems. A flash hider hides the flash from the shooter's own vision. A compensator vents upward to fight muzzle rise. A brake vents sideways to fight recoil, extremely effectively, and makes the rifle dramatically louder for everyone standing beside you.

Check the thread pitch before ordering — 1/2x28 is standard for 5.56 and 5/8x24 for .308, and they are not interchangeable. If a suppressor is anywhere in your plans, buy the muzzle device that serves as your can's mount now rather than paying twice. Timing matters on brakes and comps: they need to be indexed correctly, which is what crush washers and shims are for.
